بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
- وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَٰتِ غَرۡقٗاBy the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence;×
- وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَٰتِ نَشۡطٗاBy those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed);×
- وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَٰتِ سَبۡحٗاAnd by those who glide along (on errands of mercy),×
- فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَٰتِ سَبۡقٗاThen press forward as in a race,×
- فَٱلۡمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمۡرٗاThen arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord),×
- يَوۡمَ تَرۡجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُOne Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion,×
- تَتۡبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُFollowed by oft-repeated (commotions):×
- قُلُوبٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ وَاجِفَةٌHearts that Day will be in agitation;×
- أَبۡصَٰرُهَا خَٰشِعَةٞCast down will be (their owners') eyes.×
- يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرۡدُودُونَ فِي ٱلۡحَافِرَةِThey say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state?×
- أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَٰمٗا نَّخِرَةٗ"What! – when we shall have become rotten bones?"×
- قَالُواْ تِلۡكَ إِذٗا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٞThey say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!"×
- فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجۡرَةٞ وَٰحِدَةٞBut verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry,×
- فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِWhen, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment).×
- هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓHas the story of Moses reached thee?×
- إِذۡ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلۡوَادِ ٱلۡمُقَدَّسِ طُوًىBehold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:-×
- ٱذۡهَبۡ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ"Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds:×
- فَقُلۡ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ"And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?-×
- وَأَهۡدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخۡشَىٰ"'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'"×
- فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلۡأٓيَةَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰThen did (Moses) show him the Great Sign.×
- فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰBut (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance);×
- ثُمَّ أَدۡبَرَ يَسۡعَىٰFurther, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah).×
- فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰThen he collected (his men) and made a proclamation,×
- فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰSaying, "I am your Lord, Most High".×
- فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰٓBut Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, – in the Hereafter, as in this life.×
- إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبۡرَةٗ لِّمَن يَخۡشَىٰٓVerily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah).×
- ءَأَنتُمۡ أَشَدُّ خَلۡقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُۚ بَنَىٰهَاWhat! Are ye the more difficult to create or the heaven (above)? (Allah) hath constructed it:×
- رَفَعَ سَمۡكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَاOn high hath He raised its canopy, and He hath given it order and perfection.×
- وَأَغۡطَشَ لَيۡلَهَا وَأَخۡرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَاIts night doth He endow with darkness, and its splendour doth He bring out (with light).×
- وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآAnd the earth, moreover, hath He extended (to a wide expanse);×
- أَخۡرَجَ مِنۡهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرۡعَىٰهَاHe draweth out therefrom its moisture and its pasture;×
- وَٱلۡجِبَالَ أَرۡسَىٰهَاAnd the mountains hath He firmly fixed;-×
- مَتَٰعٗا لَّكُمۡ وَلِأَنۡعَٰمِكُمۡFor use and convenience to you and your cattle.×
- فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰTherefore, when there comes the great, overwhelming (Event),-×
- يَوۡمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰThe Day when man shall remember (all) that he strove for,×
- وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلۡجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰAnd Hell-Fire shall be placed in full view for (all) to see,-×
- فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰThen, for such as had transgressed all bounds,×
- وَءَاثَرَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَاAnd had preferred the life of this world,×
- فَإِنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ هِيَ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰThe Abode will be Hell-Fire;×
- وَأَمَّا مَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفۡسَ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰAnd for such as had entertained the fear of standing before their Lord's (tribunal) and had restrained (their) soul from lower desires,×
- فَإِنَّ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ هِيَ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰTheir abode will be the Garden.×
- يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرۡسَىٰهَاThey ask thee about the Hour,-'When will be its appointed time?×
- فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكۡرَىٰهَآWherein art thou (concerned) with the declaration thereof?×
- إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآWith thy Lord in the Limit fixed therefor.×
- إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخۡشَىٰهَاThou art but a Warner for such as fear it.×
- كَأَنَّهُمۡ يَوۡمَ يَرَوۡنَهَا لَمۡ يَلۡبَثُوٓاْ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوۡ ضُحَىٰهَاThe Day they see it, (It will be) as if they had tarried but a single evening, or (at most till) the following morn!×
