In 2020, Disney Plus introduced a new feature called GroupWatch, which will make it possible to watch any film, short, or television program on the service simultaneously with an unlimited number of other viewers.
Since GroupWatch synchronizes streams, everyone can see the same thing at the same time, even if they can’t be physically there for it. Everyone you invite must have a Disney Plus account; however, up to four profiles on the same account may stream at the same time.
Disney Plus’s website or mobile app may be used to initiate and join a GroupWatch. And while you watch, you may provide instant feedback by pressing the thumbs up or down.
The virtual viewing service is accessible through a web browser or the Disney Plus app, which can be downloaded for iOS and Android mobile and tablet devices.

How to start a Disney Plus watch party or a Disney group watch
In order to add guests to your GroupWatch, you must be the host. You do the following:
On desktop
- Access your Disney+ profile by signing in.
- Choose the program or film you wish to watch.
- Navigate to the title’s Details page, and then click the GroupWatch symbol (it looks like three people in a circle).
- To add friends and relatives, just hit the “+” button.
- Next, select the link and then click the Copy Link button.
- Copy and paste the URL into a message or email to share it with others.
- Select “Start Stream” when you’re ready to begin viewing.
- To leave the GroupWatch and select a different episode or add members, click the back arrow.
- On the title details page, choose Leave GroupWatch to leave the group permanently.
- The playback will continue until everyone has tapped or clicked this button.
On mobile
- To begin, launch Disney+.
- Second, choose the program or film you wish to watch.
- Select the GroupWatch symbol (it looks like three people in a circle) on the title details page.
- Invite your loved ones by tapping the “+” button, then selecting Invite.
- Pick the platform you’d want to use to disseminate the GroupWatch link, and tap.
- You may copy the URL and share it by text message, AirDrop, or any of your other preferred methods of communication.
- Once ready, choose the Start Stream option.
- Tap the back arrow to leave GroupWatch and choose a new episode or add members.
- On the title details page, choose Leave GroupWatch to leave the group permanently. Until everyone taps or presses this button, the broadcast will continue playing.

How to join a Disney Plus GroupWatch
Disney Plus GroupWatch is available on any internet-connected device, including computers, smartphones, and smart TVs.
On desktop or mobile
- Launch the Disney+ app or sign in to your Disney+ account.
- Pick your preferred profile.
- Decide on the program or film that you and your loved ones will watch together.
- Click the GroupWatch button on the Title Details page, then click Join Stream.
On a smart TV
If you want to use a smart TV, you’ll need to accept a GroupWatch invite first.
- Step 1: Launch Disney+ on your streaming device.
- Step 2: Log in to GroupWatch using the same account you used to accept the invitation.
- Step 3: Click the “Join Stream” button.
